One of the most popular new activities that people of all ages are loving is Paint Nite. If you have never heard of Paint Nite, it is essentially a step-by-step process that allows you to paint your own unique painting, while following along with a professional artist. Additionally, while completing your masterpiece, you are able to eat, drink, and have a good time with your friends. Paint Nite has become quite popular over the last couple of years, so if you are unsure about this activity and whether it is for you or not, or just want to learn about the best Paint Nite places and the perks of this experience, continue reading!
What exactly is Paint Nite?
Essentially, Paint Nite allows anyone to become an artist for the night. Trust me; I am horrible at painting and drawing, but as you can see in the photo above, my painting came out pretty well. So, how did my painting come out so well if I am usually so bad at this task? Paint Nite allows you to follow along in a step-by-step process with a professional artist. Not only is the artist in front of the crowd demonstrating how to complete each step, but he or she also has a microphone so you can clearly hear what is being explained. Even more helpful is the fact that the artist actually walks around to help you fix any mistakes, and answer any questions you may have. The artists are truly so nice and understanding, and really do want to help you create a piece of art you are proud of.
Another huge part of Paint Nite, of course, are the food and drink options. All Paint Nite locations offer food and drinks, and many also have small bars set up in the paint room itself. Additionally, many also offer discounts on food and drinks (although it may be limited options) when you are participating in Paint Nite. Paint Nite is a great way for you to express your creativity, along with casually eating and drinking with your friends.

1. Choose your own painting
Specifically, you are able to go online and choose which painting you want to attempt to create! This allows the experience to become even more personalized since you can choose a painting that best fits your personality or interests. Of course, you can also stray from the displayed finished product and add your own personalized touches to your artwork. Additionally, paintings are categorized by the level of difficulty. So, if you are not the best painter (like me) then choose beginner. No matter the difficulty level, all paintings are beautiful and there are hundreds of options to choose from.
2. All materials are included
When you register for Paint Nite, the price includes a canvas, brushes, paint, and professional instruction. Furthermore, there are other options available when you choose which piece of art you want to create. For instance, some options includes fairy lights within the painting, creating your art on a piece of wood rather than a canvas, or painting wine glasses or mason jars. Again, the fee you pay when you register includes all needed materials. It is nice to know that you just have to show up, and you are all ready to start your night out! While you do have to pay for food and drink (although some locations do include discounts) it makes life easier knowing you do not need to bring your own materials.
3. A great activity for all ages
Both times that I have gone to Paint Nite events, there are people of all ages there. Some events do have age minimums, but it will be displayed prior to you registering for that event. While the events are mainly tailored towards teenagers and adults, some locations include events specifically tailored for children, especially if they are hosting a child's birthday party. People of all ages enjoy painting, being creative, eating, and having a good time with their friends, so this is an activity that many people will enjoy.

Many Paint Nites are held at local bars and restaurants, such as Applebee's or Napper Tandy's. Be sure to check out Paint Nite's Official Website to find a location near you. Additionally, since this activity has become more popular in recent years, actual Paint Nite stand-alone locations have appeared. One of my favorites is called Muse Paintbar. It has numerous locations all over the United States, but the one I go to is located in Port Jefferson Village on Long Island.
