The Girl Behind The Blog

I have always been interested in sharing aspects of my life, especially when it comes to topics such as lifestyle, inspiration, and travel. For now, I want to focus my site on fun things to do on Long Island, in the state of New York, as well as share my travel experiences with you. I am always looking for new places to explore and new activities to try, so I figured why not share aspects I enjoy to inspire you to get out there and try something new!

Here are 5 quick facts about me:

1) I am a New York State certified secondary English language arts educator, as well as a certified literacy/reading educator. I started off working in a middle school building for a couple of years, which I loved. I recently started working in a high school setting, and although it is an adjustment, I am loving it so far.

​

 2) I attended SUNY Oneonta for 4 years to obtain my teaching degree. I had a great experience there and I really miss it! Most recently (2020), I graduated from my master's program in literacy education. I completed my program online, which allowed me to work full-time as I obtained my M.S.Ed.

​

3) As you can probably tell, I was born and raised on Long Island, as well as currently reside here. I love being surrounded by beaches, while also being just a short train ride from NYC.

​

4) I have two pets that I am actually obsessed with. Caden is my 10-year-old golden retriever, German Shepherd mix. I also have a cat, Bella, who is 3 years old. Bella acts more like a dog than a cat, so her and Caden get along very well! I am sure you will see pictures of them from time to time in my posts.

​

5) I have always wanted to run a blog, but have never thought of actually pursuing this hobby until recently. Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed writing. Blogging allows me to write about aspects that I am passionate about in a fun, creative way.
